A tune-up with proper lubrication, tightening, and adjustments usually solves the problem and restores smooth, quiet operation. If it takes more than that, we’ll do a full assessment and provide you with all the information you need—before we begin any work.

If your door won’t open, slams shut, or moves unevenly, the spring may be broken. You might also hear a loud bang or notice a visible gap in the torsion spring. Springs are under extreme tension and should always be handled by a trained professional to avoid serious injury.

Minor issues like worn rollers or a noisy opener can usually be repaired. But if your door is more than 15 years old, severely damaged, or lacks energy efficiency, it may be more cost-effective to replace it. While it’s fine to clean your tracks or lubricate hinges but anything involving springs, cables, or electrical components should be left to a licensed technician. These systems are under high tension and can be dangerous without the right tools and training.  If your door isn't moving or if you suspect your springs may be broken, give us a call.  For your own safety, we implore you DO NOT attempt to open your door.

Talk to your technician, though, for information on how you can keep up with general maintenance of your garage door system.
