Garage Door Spring Replacement

Broken or Worn Springs

Garage door springs carry the weight of the door and assist the opener in lifting and lowering it. When a spring wears out or snaps, the door may become too heavy to lift, stop moving mid-travel, or fail to open altogether. A failing spring places stress on the door, cables, and opener, and should be addressed promptly to prevent further damage.

Spring repair costs vary depending on the type of spring and door system. After a full assessment, the technician will recommend the appropriate replacement and ensure the door is properly balanced and operational.

Spring Conversions

Some older systems, such as single-spring or Wayne Dalton setups, can be converted to a standard torsion spring system. Conversion improves reliability, reduces long-term maintenance costs, and makes future spring replacements more affordable. We’ll let you know if a conversion makes sense for your system — and only recommend it when it truly benefits you.

Safety Note:
If you suspect a broken or failing spring, please do not attempt to lift, pull, or force the door. Springs are under significant tension and improper handling can cause injury or damage. It’s safest to leave the door as it is until a technician can secure and repair the system.
