Garage Door Motor Repair
Motor (Opener) Repair
The garage door opener is the component that controls the movement of the garage door. Although many people refer to it as the "motor," the opener works together with the spring system, which provides most of the lifting force required to raise and lower the door.
Common opener issues include worn gears, sensor problems, damaged drive components, remote or keypad malfunctions, and connectivity issues. Symptoms may include unusual noises, intermittent operation, failure to respond to controls, or an opener that runs without moving the door.
A technician can assess the opener and related components to determine the cause of the problem and recommend appropriate repair or replacement options based on the condition of the system.
New Motor (Opener) Installation
For homes with aging or unreliable openers, installing a new motor provides smoother operation, improved safety features, and quieter performance. Modern openers offer benefits such as battery backup, Wi-Fi controls, and updated security systems that prevent forced entry through the garage door.
During a new installation, the technician will remove the old unit, install the new opener, and ensure that the door, sensors, remotes, and keypad are working correctly.
Homeowner-Purchased Motor Installation
Some homeowners prefer to purchase their own opener through a home improvement store or online. We are happy to install homeowner-purchased motors, as long as the system is compatible with the existing door and hardware. The technician will review the unit on arrival, confirm compatibility, and complete the installation so the system operates safely and reliably.

Safety Note:
If your garage door won’t open or close, please do not force it, and avoid pulling or pushing on the door. Forcing a non-responsive door can damage the opener, track system, springs, or door panels. If the door is stuck, leave it as-is and contact a technician to diagnose the issue safely.
